HISTORY Charlotte Test Prep began as a Division of Educational Services, a 40-year old company headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Educational Services is the largest preparer of standardized tests on the east coast. The company prepares an average of 3,000 per year in the five Philadelphia area offices. The director of Charlotte Test Prep, Carrie Wiggins, was trained and worked successfully under John Avery Snyder, Director of Educational Services for six years. John Avery Snyder graduated from the Episcopal Academy with the John Andrews Harris Writing Prize after publishing several times in the Atlantic Monthly. He attended Trinity College as a James Lippincott Goodwin Fellow, and continued to publish extensively through college and separately as a news reporter. Mr. Snyder taught English Literature, Creative Writing, Algebra I & II, and Geometry to juniors and seniors at the Agnes Irwin School for two years before returning to Bryn Mawr College for graduate work in psychology. He founded Educational Services forty years ago, and has continuously served as Director ever since. Ms. Wiggins worked directly under Mr. Synder and quickly became the most successful and most requested instructor within the organization.
Director, Carrie Wiggins, increased the number of students qualifying for National Merit on the PSAT by 3o% in 2005 and 2006. Additionally, 27% of her students were accepted at Ivy League schools. President and Director, Carrie Wiggins is proud to bring Charlotte Test Prep to the Charlotte area. We look forward to working with students, families and college counselors sharing the common goal of educating our youth.
